“Orange” is a mobile phone service such as T-Mobile. At the Jordan River Foundation, our work teams were asked to come up with team names and a clever girl from our group came up with “Team Orange”. It stands for Communication as in the mobile service provider. Cool huh?! I like it! Choung and I, along with Awad and another boy from the JRF planted 14 trees!!
Well today was our second day off, its a Saturday. Friday and Saturday are off days for people in Jordan, but we get Sunday, too. Yesterday, Friday, we visited Jerash, a historical site, with Ancient Roman temples and theatres. Its well preserved and is about 45 mins away from Amman. We traveled here by a mini-bus. A fun day! It was HOT!! I had my pants rolled up and my Kheffiyeh wrapped around my head bedouin style! Today we got 2 students from Connecticut who are a part of NSLI join our host family. They will now be staying with us! We also learned that Roslyn, who is an OWN student, is also somewhere in Jordan. “Somewhere over the Rainbow, way up high!” Im just kidding. I got a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Im going to now say goodnight. Ill write all about it soon. Salaam!
We love hearing from you guys – keep up the blogging and enjoy every minute! All the best, Kristin
